2009 Stephen Curry Signed Rookie Card Basket

“Play like you’re in first.

Train like you’re in second.”

The 2009-2010 Playoff National Treasures Stephen Curry Rookie Card #206 Patch Autograph/99 contains a three-color patch of his Golden State Warriors jersey on the front of the card, with a blue signature below it. Stephen Curry, written out in script, appears above the jersey patch. The top quadrant of this card contains a picture of Curry in his Warriors jersey compared to Upper Deck’s high-end take which features him in his collegiate Davidson uniform. The card was authenticated and graded an 8 NM-MT by PSA.

The 2009-2010 Topps Basketball Stephen Curry Rookie RC #321 displays a picture of Curry smiling. The photo shows him during his rookie year, wearing a white Warriors warm-up shirt. The Gold edition contains a gold border, while the Base card has a white border. The Gold card contains an autograph that has been validated by SGC with an “A” meaning the autograph is authentic. The Base card also contains an autograph that has been validated and graded by SGC with the autograph receiving a grade of 9.

The 2009-2010 Playoff National Treasures Stephen Curry Rookie Card #206 Patch Autograph/99 is one of the most desired of Steph’s rookie productions. As one of only 99 made, the card is extremely rare.

The 2009-2010 Topps Gold Basketball Stephen Curry Rookie RC #321 is a limited edition gold border rookie card, with only 2009 in circulation. This card is #1146 out of 2009.

The 2009 Topps Gold and Base cards also contain an autograph that was signed post-production and authenticated by SGC.

Given the rarity, the 2009-2010 Playoff National #206 RPA does not appear for sale often, but a BGS 9.5 “Four-Color Patch” version of the card did sell for $81,988 in July 2020.

Supply Risk: If other high quality Steph Curry cards flood the market, prices may decline.

Illiquidity: Shares in these assets could be difficult to sell if there is limited counterparty demand.

Market Risk: Given the nature of collectibles, interest in and prices of assets can vary across economic cycles.

Loss of Cultural Relevance: The value of sports memorabilia is driven by the popularity of the athlete or team featured. If Stephen Curry becomes less popular, the prices of his related memorabilia may fall.

Wardell Stephen “Steph” Curry II was drafted 7th overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2009 NBA Draft, and has remained with the Warriors through the present. His remarkable career achievements include three NBA championships, two NBA Most Valuable Player Awards, six NBA All Star selections and three All-NBA First Team awards.

He is commonly cited as one of the greatest shooters in NBA history and is credited with revolutionizing the game of basketball by inspiring teams to regularly utilize the three-point shot. Curry has set the record for most three pointers made in a regular season three times, and currently ranks third all-time in NBA history.
